The median annual wage for veterinary technologists and technicians was $30,290 in May 2012. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $21,030, and the top 10 percent earned more than $44,030. In May 2012, the median annual wages for veterinary technologists in the top three industries employing these professionals were as follows:

• $37,190 at colleges, universities, and professional schools
• $35,810 in research and development in the physical, engineering, and life sciences
• $29,920 in veterinary services.
