PED 260 Care & Prevent Athletic Injury

Prerequisite: BIO 101 or permission of instructor

This course is designed for those students who are interested in learning more about prevention, recognition, and treatment of injuries which relate to the physically active. Non-orthopedic conditions and topics will also be introdued as it relates to sports medicine. The class will have a clarroom and lab format allowing the student the opportunity to acquire the latest knowledge and practical skills used in an allied health field such as athletic training. Examples of practical skills include taping techniques, splinting, crutch fitting, weight lifting techniques, wound closure, bandaging and concussion assessment.
