HHP 200 Survival Swimming

Offered: Typically Fall and Spring terms

Designed for individuals who have had no previous experience in swimming or those whose skills are such that that they would be at risk in most aquatic situations. The course emphasizes elementary strokes, survival flotation, treading, finning, sculling, water entry, and on-land rescues. This course is required for those who do not pass the swim proficiency test.  Passing this course fulfills the swim competency requirement for graduation.  If the student has not fulfilled the Berea College Swim requirement by the beginning of the 7th term, enrollment in HHP 200 or HHP 209 will be required in the 7th term.
