This curriculum is a guide to students planning to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in Arabic language and/or literature. This area of study is designed to prepare and equip students to explore cultures and communicate with peoples, promotes cultural awareness, encourages human understanding, and prepares students to be productive global citizens. Students are advised to check the requirements of the institution to which they intend to transfer.
General Education Core
Students enrolled in transfer patterns must take a minimum of 30 credits in General Education. Each student’s total of general education and required courses must equal at least 60 semester hours of credit.

A graduate should be able to
- 1. Organize ideas and convey meaning through various communicative modes, using spontaneous language production in Arabic at the intermediate level.
- 2. Analyze cultural practices and/or artifacts from the Arabic-speaking world, giving details of the perspectives that shaped them.
- 3. Identify ethical issues in relevant context and content areas.
