MATH 043 Learning Support for Precalculus I

This course is designed to be taken at the same time as MATH 143, Precalculus I, and focuses on algebraic techniques and concepts that support student success in MATH 143. Topics include linear, quadratic, exponential, and logarithmic functions; polynomial and rational expressions; and radical and power equations.

Course Objectives

  1. Identify functions and basic properties of functions.
  2. Build and interpret linear and quadratic functions.
  3. Solve linear, quadratic, and radical equations, and linear inequalities.
  4. Simplify and perform algebraic operations with rational expressions.
  5. Recognize exponential functions, model applications with exponential functions, and understand the inverse relationship between exponential and logarithmic functions.
