6.2 Courses

If a student’s course grade becomes at-risk, the instructor and Program Director will meet with the student to discuss an individualized plan for success (remediation plan) as soon as possible to improve the student’s performance in the course. If a student struggles in a course for any reason, a remediation plan will occur. A benefit of TBL (team-based learning) is that there are regular assessments of student learning via frequent quizzes (a neurocognitive science approach proven to aid in long-term retention of information), so that student progress can be monitored weekly, as opposed to first learning mid-semester that a student is struggling via a mid-term examination. Please see future section 8.3 “Team-Based Learning, Remediation”.
