Two or More Students Working on Related Thesis Projects
The overall goal of the thesis is to provide the student with a full experience in the research process, and joint projects can provide this. Students may address related research questions, share resources, and collaborate on reviewing the literature. Under the guidance of their advisor(s) and committees, they may collect data together and/or use the same data, but analyze the data separately to address their individual questions. The students, advisor(s), and committees should work together to establish the terms of the collaboration and ensure that roles are clear.
Students will present the thesis prospectus separately to their thesis committee. When the project is completed, they will present separate thesis defenses. Each student will also produce separate written documents that are in their own words.
