CI 479 Young Child as Scientist

Explores developmentally appropriate science for preschool and primary age children, focusing on experimentation and problem-solving. Students experience and design activities for young children around three questions that derive from traditional science content: can I make it move, can I make it change, and how does it fit? In the process, students will learn more about constructivist teaching and curriculum, particularly as applied to science education. Also offered for graduate-level credit as CI 579 and may be taken only once for credit.
