Soc 419 Sociology of Mental Illness
An overview of sociological perspectives on mental health and illness. Informs understanding of mental health and illness by challenging dominant views of mental illness, examining how social relationships play a role in mental illness, questioning the goals and implications of mental health policy and presenting research on how mental health services are organized and provided. Also offered for graduate-level credit as Soc 519 and may be taken only once for credit.
