Anth 547 Advanced Topics in South Asian Anthropology

In-depth exploration of a current topic in South Asian anthropology, especially in relation to social change, nationalism and conflict, colonialism, or modernization. Course materials will cover both theory and ethnography. Expected preparation: either Anth 317 or two related courses in Asian studies. (Anth Anth 304, Anth 305 strongly recommended.)
