READ 534 Foundations in Literacy
This course offers an overview of the components of literacy instruction, including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing instruction. Foundational understandings of “the science of reading,” “structured literacy,” and “orthographic mapping” are built, foundational to the reading program/dyslexia endorsement.
