ENGR 480 Manufacturing Systems Engineering

Fundamentals of manufacturing with an overview of manufacturing processes, machine tools and equipment; manufacturing systems and material flow.  Emphasis on implementation of automated manufacturing systems with pneumatics, hydraulics, electric actuators, PLCs, sensors, factory communications, and human/machine interfaces.  Scheduling, resource optimization, material handling, and quality management are discussed.  Laboratory work required.  Prerequisites:  ENGR 324, ENGR 352.  Corequisite:  ENGR 326. (Course fees apply.)
