OCC 612 Theory of Scholarship and Research
Concepts and constructs of a “practice scholar” will focus on building skills by gaining an understanding of research in health care, utilizing logical and critical thinking skills to navigate research data, asking evidence-based questions, applying theory to research, and performing literature searches. Development of research design, quantitative and qualitative methods, data collection and analysis, and professional scholarly writing. Demonstrate knowledge about clinical research design, quantitative and qualitative methods, data collection and analysis, and professional scholarly writing. Perform clinical research through development of research question, design quantitative and qualitative data collection tools, data collection, theoretical analysis, and final report. Course delivery methods include online synchronous instruction.

Admission to the Master of Occupational Therapy Program and successful completion and transfer of all required courses including a bachelor’s degree.
