Credit for Prior Learning

Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) is a process by which students can earn college-level, academic credit for past knowledge and experiences. It encompasses knowlege, skills, and competencies a student has obtained through on-the-job training, the awarding of a certificate or license, military experience, or continuing education courses.

The College may grant limited academic credit when students demonstrate college-level achievement in a subject area or provide evidence of experiences that led to appropriate knowledge and skill acquisition. While approved CPL will fulfill academic requirements at the College, other institutions may decide not to accept it.
