Radiologic technologists held about 212,100 jobs in 2020. The industries that employed the most technologists in 2020 were as follows:

• General medical and surgical hospitals (60 percent)
• Office of physicians (19 percent)
• Medical and diagnostic laboratories (7 percent)
• Outpatient care centers (7 percent)
• Federal Government, excluding postal service (3 percent)

Employment opportunities are projected to increase by approximately 9 percent from 2020 to 2030.
