EDS 488 Elem Student Teaching Seminar

Prerequisite: Permission of instructor

Offered: Every Fall Term

The elementary Student Teaching seminar is a required component of the student teaching experience. The seminar will support, enhance, and enrich student teachers' professional growth and development by providing multiple opportunities to explore, discuss, and reflect upon their teaching experiences within a community of inquiry. The seminar will help student teachers to articulate and demonstrate the knowledge, understandings, skills, and dispositions necessary to meet Berea's program goals and the Kentucky Teacher Standards. A special emphasis of the seminar will be to support student teachers' development of the required Exit Portfolio. The seminar will meet two hours each week and will be supplemented by periodic individual conferences. Taken concurrently with EDS 487. 1 Course Credit
