Academic Program

Curriculum areas that share a common purpose or theme are grouped together to form academic programs. While most academic programs are made up of a single discipline, (e.g., Philosophy, Biology, Nursing), some are comprised of more than one distinct discipline (e.g., Economics and Business, Foreign Languages, Art and Art History). Those programs that offer a major program of study are referred to as Major Academic Programs while those offering only a minor program of study are referred to as Minor Academic Programs.
