Religion Minor

Degree Requirements

The faculty of the Religion Program has designed a minor in Religion to complement a student’s interests and studies in other disciplines. The minor in Religion requires a minimum of five (5) course-credits, as follows:

Required Religion Courses

The student must complete at least four (4) additional courses in the study of Religion:

  • The student must complete at least two (2) of these courses that are Religion-designated courses and not cross-listed with any other academic program
  • Of the four additional Religion courses, a student must complete at least one (1) 200-level Religion-designated course that is not cross-listed with any other academic program
  • Of the four additional Religion courses, a student must complete at least one (1) regular 300-level Religion-designated course that is not cross-listed with any other academic program.  NOTE: Independent Studies, Internships, Team-Initiated Studies, and Directed Studies will not fulfill this basic requirement.
  • To fulfill the requirement of four additional courses, a student may complete no more than two (2) potential interdisciplinary collateral courses in the study of religion from other academic programs of the College that the Religion Program may approve upon request.
