EDA 60900 Foundations of Secondary School Administration and Organization

This course will enable the student to develop
an understanding of the role of the administrator in education. Topics include federal, state, and local governance in education, models of administrative practices, planning and problem solving techniques and communication skills. The student will apply the learned understanding, knowledge and skills to the function and role of the effective secondary school principal. This application will include policy development, organizational structure, faculty and staff development, communications, instructional leadership, planning strategies and school climate. This course requires 45 hours of internship activities.
