Health Professions Education Certificate
Overview
This broad-based, interprofessional certificate program is designed to prepare health professions educators – clinical instructors, faculty, and preceptors – to teach students across learning environments. It allows busy practitioners maximum flexibility:
- Offers both a 9-credit Certificate of Completion and a 15-credit Certificate of Advanced Study
- Includes a concentration in health professions simulation
- Is part-time
- Has all courses online and mentored practica can be arranged in your community
It provides learners with the educational principles needed to integrate their clinical acumen and knowledge with tools to teach others and to create meaningful learning environments.
Enhancing Health Professionals' Expertise
The MGH Institute recognizes that teaching and learning occurs across a wide variety of settings and levels. As lifelong learners, health professionals engage in formal and informal teaching and learning. Participants in this program build a knowledge base of educational principles and methodologies that translates to projects consistent with their professional roles and interests.
The program takes advantage of the latest technologies for teaching health professionals. Advantaging principles of instructional design across teaching and learning modalities, scholars will gain competence in using various technologies to communicate, to evaluate, and to promote learning.
