Part V: Advanced Doctoral Experience (ADE)

The Advanced Doctoral Experience is unique to the entry-level OTD curriculum, fulfilling the Doctoral Experiential Component accreditation requirements.  Students are mentored by an individual with expertise consistent with the student’s area of focus. The mentor has demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas identified as the student’s focused area of study: clinical practice skills, research skills, administration, leadership, program and policy development, advocacy, education, or theory development.

Eligibility to Begin the ADE

Students must successfully complete both OT 761 and OT 762 Level II Fieldworks, along with the OT 880 Professional Competencies course, in order to be eligible to start the ADE.
