Petitions

Students maintain the right to petition the Committee on Academic Policies and Procedures for any variance from standard policy or procedure.

Format of Petitions

Petitions should be submitted to the Committee on Academic Policies and Procedures through the academic advisor. Petitions should be submitted in the form of a letter addressed to the student’s academic advisor or the Committee on Academic Policies and Procedures.  Petitions should include the specific request, a complete explanation of why the request is being made and must include supporting documentation to justify why the petition should be granted.  Petition letters attached to Institute emails are acceptable.

Approval of Petitions

All petitions must be approved by majority vote of the Committee on Academic Policies and Procedures. The Chair of the Committee will inform the student in writing of the outcome of the petition process.
