PhD Student Funding and Doctoral Fellowships

4.1 Doctoral Fellowships

The program will attempt to find part-time positions or “Fellowships” (half-time, approximately 20 hours/week) for students who need funding to help defray living expenses during the first two years of the program. Typically, these are teaching, clinical and/or research positions related to their prior clinical specialties. In some cases, it is possible that these sources of funding may extend beyond two years. The program does not guarantee that it can provide such positions to all students accepted into the program.

4.2 PhD Tuition

All students receive a tuition scholarship for all IHP courses in the core curriculum, which are completed by the end of the second year. Students begin to pay a continuing education fee – equal to one credit – per semester, starting the beginning of the third year. Students are encouraged to take the Qualifying Exam as soon after the end of the second year as possible.
