HA-850 Leading in a Resource-constrained Environment

Prerequisites: HAH-620, HAH-630, HA-625, HA-631,HA-640, HA-645. This course builds upon foundational courses to delve into aspects of economics including payment, budgeting, business planning, and financial forecasting, government, legal, regulatory, and ethical factors, population health, health policy decisions and technology that impact efficient, equitable, and cost-effective production, allocation, access and consumption of health care resources and services. Learners gain insights and practice in developing and managing healthcare operations, budgets, and interprofessional teams through real-life case studies and simulated problem-solving depicting the challenges of functioning in a resource constrained environment and aimed at increasing value, improving revenue, reducing costs, and promoting patient, team member and community well-being.
