2.3.5 Petitions and Appeals

Students maintain the right to petition the program director for any variance from program level policy or procedure. Any course level issues should be addressed with the course faculty directly first.

Petitions should include the specific request, an explanation of why the request is being made, and should include any supporting documentation to justify why the petition should be granted. Petition letters should be submitted to the MS-HPEd Program Director. Petition letters attached to emails are acceptable.

All petitions will be reviewed by the program director, who may choose to convene an ad hoc faculty committee to review the petition. The program director will inform the student in writing of the outcome of the petition process within 14 days of its receipt. Students may choose to further appeal the outcomes of their petitions with the Dean of the School of Healthcare Leadership, who will retain final authority.
