PA 731 Essentials of Musculoskeletal Disease and Injury

Prerequisites: Successful completion of semester 2 courses. The course provides students with a comprehensive look at the diagnosis and management of common diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, beginning with normal anatomy and physiology followed by pathophysiology, genetic manifestations, and epidemiology. Students will then explore risk factors, signs, symptoms, and diagnostic studies that provide the foundation for the diagnosis and treatment, including pharmacotherapeutics, of common musculoskeletal conditions. Concepts of prevention, patient education, chronic disease management, and follow-up will be covered.
