NP 848 Psychiatric/Mental Health Theory III

Prerequisites: RN status; NP 715, NP 739, NP 762N, NP845, NP855. Pass/fail and audit options not available. This course is designed to prepare the PMHNP student to safely and effectively prescribe and monitor medications used in the treatment of patients with psychiatric mental health disorders. Emphasis is given to development of clinical reasoning skills essential for appropriate therapeutic decision-making and clinically responsible treatment strategies from assessment to initiation, stabilization, maintenance, and discontinuation of psychopharmacological interventions for a diverse group of patients across the life-span.
