3.1 Program of Study (See Appendix 1)
This Policies and Procedures Handbook includes updates to the qualifying exam and prospectus requirements. The updated requirements will apply to all PhD students matriculating in Fall 2026 and beyond. Students who matriculated in Fall 2025, in consultation with their research mentor and program leadership (Program Director and Associate Director), may choose to follow either the previous requirements or the updated requirements. All students who matriculated prior to Fall 2025 will continue to follow the previous requirements.
