Early Childhood Education Subsequent Teaching Endorsement
Teachers who have an Illinois Professional Educator License endorsed for elementary education, secondary education or special education may add an endorsement in early childhood education (Birth- Grade 2) by completing the ECE professional coursework identified below.
Candidates for a subsequent teaching endorsement should be admitted to NLU if they wish to have their transcripts reviewed and evaluated for the endorsement.
In addition to National College of Education Graduate Admission Requirements, program requires:
- Valid and current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Faculty review
Endorsement Details:
- Requires 18 SH for completion
- Requires a minimum grade of “C” in all coursework
- Requires passing of the Early Childhood Education content test (#206)
