Introduction to the history, present practice and future trends of the profession; structure and services of the American Physical Therapy Association (A.P.T.A.); introduction to the team concept in health care including the role and responsibilities of the physical therapist assistant; and introduction to common disease processes. The scope of expanded practice for the PTA will be introduced.
