FILM 480 Film Theory
A survey of film theory and criticism from their inception to the present day. Students are introduced to key concepts and major figures from Classical Film Theory (Eisenstein, Arnheim, Bazin) through Structuralism, Semiotics, Psychoanalysis, Feminism, and Cognitive Studies. Also offered for graduate-level credit as FILM 580 and may be taken only once for credit.
