Phl 419 Kant
Study of Kant's Philosophy primarily as represented in the Critiques of Pure Reason, Practical Reason, Judgment. Readings from some of these or related works. Possible topics for consideration: necessary connection, the analytic-synthetic distinction, conceptions of science and metaphysics, relation between metaphysics and morality. Also offered for graduate-level credit as Phl 519 and may be taken only once for credit. Recommended prerequisite: 8 credits in philosophy.
