Span 494 Spanish Linguistics

Introduction to the basic concepts of linguistics and their application to the Spanish language. Emphasis on practical analysis of the sound system and the grammatical system. Brief survey of the historical development, followed by an analysis of the phonetics, phonemics, morphology, and syntax of modern Spanish. Must be taken in sequence. Also offered for graduate-level credit as Span 594 and may be taken only once for credit.
