SOCI 238 Health and Culture

Examination of the social context of health, illness, and the healthcare system. Attention given to the impact of social, cultural, political, and economic determinants on health, illness, and the delivery of medical care in the United States. The course includes, but is not limited to, social epidemiology, health/illness behavior, medical facilities, healthcare professionals, insurance, and public policy. Credit will not be allowed for both SOCI 238 and SOCI 438.
