HONORS GENERAL STUDIES PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP. Students in the Honors Program are awarded an annual scholarship dependent on successful completion of specific courses and a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher. Freshman and Sophomore students receive $1,000 and Juniors and Seniors receive $1,500. Scholarship funds will be applied to students accounts at the start of spring quarter.

NEXTGEN PASTOR AND TEACHER SCHOLARSHIP (2023-24 School Year). NextGen Scholarship is a donor provided partnership designed to cover the cost of the tuition (up to 16 hours per quarter), less other scholarships and grants – including funding from federal, state, institutional and private sources, and educational allowance. If additional awards are received after a scholarship has been awarded, an adjustment will be made on the recipient’s financial aid award. The amount of the NextGen Scholarship is based on completed financial aid forms such as WWU Financial Aid Application and FAFSA, along with any verification documents (if selected for this process).
To qualify for NextGen Scholarship, a student:
- Must be a first-time freshman.
- Declare Education or Theology as a major.
- WWU Housing & Meal Plans required on Financial Plan.
- Marticulate at WWU during 2023-24 school year.
- Solid Acadeic performance is required (3.00 minumum high school GPA recommended).
For the 2023-24 school year, the application deadline is May 15, 2023. Funding is limited, and will be awarded following completion of the enrollment process, including payment of the Enrollment Fee as long as funds are available. Theology majors will also receive recommendations post required interviews with the Dean of the School of Theology.
The NextGen Scholarship is renewable up to 12 quarters (up to 16 hours per quarter), provided scholarship recipient(s) must:
- Make acceptable progress towards degree completition and remain in compliance with the academic policies and Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (See " Satisfactory Academic Progress Plolicy for Financial Aid Recipients" page in the Financial Bulletin).
- Submit the FAFSA and WWU Undergraduate Application along with any verification documents (if selected for this process).
- Should you choose to change to a difference major, you will not receive the scholarship during subsequent quarters. Recipients must stay within the sequence of courses required for the degree.

PELL PARTNERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP: First-time freshmen whose families report gross income of less than $60,000 on their FAFSA application and qualify for the Federal Pell Grant Program will pay $0 out-of-pocket for tuition at WWU. The scholarship covers WWU tuition by combining federal qualifying and Washington state grants in partnership with generous donors. Pell Partnership Scholarship does not cover general fees or course fees. The scholarship may provide subsidized and unsubsidized Federal Direct Loans as needed (grant is not increased if loans are declined). Students may become employed at WWU and choose to apply at least $4,000 of work earnings each academic year towards their WWU bill.
Pell Partnership Scholarship will be available for fall, winter and spring quarters up to 16 credits. It may be renewed for up to 12 academic quarters (equivalent of four years) if student continues to qualify for the Federal Pell Grant Program.
To qualify for WWU's Pell Partnership Scholarship, a student:
- Must be a first-time freshman.
- Enroll full time at WWU Fall 2023 or later.
- Submit the FAFSA and WWU Undergraduate Application along with any verificaction documents (if selected for this process).

OTHER POTENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP SOURCES. As part of their university financial planning, students are encouraged to find out whether they qualify for scholarships from community organizations (like the PTA, YWCA, and Rotary Club), from their parents' employers, or from their local churches. Information on assistance offered in a student's hometown can be obtained through the local high-school counselor, public library, or Chamber of Commerce.
