CPTR 130 Introduction to Data Science

Introduction to the computational thinking skills, processes, and tools needed to reason about the world around us using data. Students will experience the complete data science life-cycle, including data collection, cleaning and processing, exploration and visualization, analysis, and prediction. By exploring case studies in a variety disciplines, students will learn to think critically and ethically about data in all forms. Through the completion of hands-on projects, students will develop the ability to professionally communicate a compelling story with data. Does not apply toward a major or minor in computer science.
