CSJ 209 Constitutional Law and Criminal Justice

This course is an introduction to the United States Constitution with an emphasis on its aspects relevant to the field of criminal justice. Students explore topics such as the history of the Constitution, the concepts of federalism and the separation of powers, limits on federal and state power, the rights and obligations of government and citizens, and constitutional issues related to criminal justice administration, including civil liberties, search and seizure, arrest, prosecution, and punishment.
