ENGR 480 Manufacturing Systems Engineering

Study of the fundamentals of manufacturing with an overview of manufacturing processes, machine tools and equipment; manufacturing systems and material flow. Emphasis on implementation of automated manufacturing systems with pneumatics, hydraulics, electric actuators, PLCs, sensors, factory communications, and human/machine interfaces. Scheduling, resource optimization, material handling, and quality management are discussed. Laboratory work required. (Course fees apply.)
