LFIT 132 Yoga II

Yoga II is a course for students who are familiar with basic Hatha Yoga and want to take their practice to an advanced level. This course will promote increased strength, flexibility, and coordination. Students will become familiar with inverted postures, advanced breathing techniques, and meditation.

Course Objectives

  1. 1. Perform advanced and basic Yoga postures.
  2. 2. Understand the relationship between Yoga and the mind.
  3. 3. Be able to sit in meditation for fifteen minutes.
  4. 4. Identify the positive effects meditation has on physical and mental health.
  5. 5. Understand the principles of Yoga diet.
  6. 6. Perform pranayama techniques.
  7. 7. Understand the philosophy and physiology of yoga breathing.
  8. 8. Develop a personal yoga program.
