Course Description

This course provides fundamental instruction in regards to healthcare capture and documentation. Students transcribe and edit a variety of medical reports that are utilized in medical office and acute care settings. Students are introduced to editing, proofreading, cloze, and speech recognition skills necessary with the changes in technology and the electronic health record (EHR). NOTE: Course offered during Fall and Spring quarters only.
