MGH Institute of Health Professions School of Nursing Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program Admission Requirements:

  • A completed bachelor’s degree from a U. S. college or university with a minimum overall GPA of 2.7 or an overall graduate GPA of 3.30. For students with degree from outside the U. S., please see https://www.mghihp.edu/application-requirements/absn.
  • A minimum grade of a C+ is required in each prerequisite course See list of pre-requisite courses https://www.mghihp.edu/application-requirements/absn.
  • Prerequisite coursework must have been completed within seven (7) years of matriculation. Applicants may have prerequisite coursework planned or in process at the time of application with no more than two (2) outstanding prerequisites during the semester prior to anticipated matriculation. All prerequisite courses must be completed prior to matriculation. Official transcripts must be submitted prior to the start of the program.
  • All admitted students are required to submit final college transcripts documenting graduation. College transcripts are satisfactory evidence of secondary school graduation.
  • Verification for any non-U.S. based secondary education must be validated by an approved agency. Four approved agencies include: Center for Educational Documentation, World Education Services, North American Educational Group, or Educational Credential Evaluators. Two letters of recommendation, a personal statement, diversity essay and resume are also required.
  • All admitted students must provide evidence of adherence to the IHP Immunization and Certification Requirements, Physical Examination and Health History Documentation, OSHA and HIPAA training by matriculation into the program.

 

IHP School of Nursing Direct-Entry Nursing (DEN) Program Admission Requirements:

    Master of Science (Post BSN) (Includes MS Advanced Practice, Master of Science - Leadership in Nursing Education)

  • All applicants must have completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university. All admitted students are required to submit BSN final transcripts documenting graduation.
  • Applicants must have completed a graduate or undergraduate Statistics course with a grade of C+ or better
  • All applicants must have current professional (RN) licensure, which will be verified prior to enrollment.  
  • Two letters of recommendation, a personal statement, diversity essay and resume are also required.
  • All admitted students must provide evidence of adherence to the IHP Immunization and Certification Requirements, Physical Examination and Health History Documentation, OSHA and HIPAA training by matriculation into the program.

 

          Post-Master's or Post-Nurse Practitioner Certificate of Advanced Study Program

  • All applicants must have completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and an earned Master’s in Nursing from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university. All admitted students are required to submit final transcripts documenting graduation.
  • Applicants must have completed a graduate or undergraduate Statistics course with a grade of C+ or better
  • All applicants must havecurrent professional (RN) licensure, which will be verified prior to enrollment.

         Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

  • All applicants must have completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and an earned Master’s in Nursing from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university. All admitted students are required to submit final transcripts documenting graduation. 
  • Applicants with a BSN and a non-nursing Master’s (e.g. MHA, MBA, MPH) may be accepted but additional pre-requisites may be required.
  • Applicants must have a faculty reviewed graduate course in biostatistics; completed within the last ten years. Previous courses, new courses and some certificate programs may be accepted to meet this requirement.
  • Transcripts from each college and/or university attended (even if degree was not received) are required
  • An essay/goal statement, diversity statement, resume, and two letters of recommendation are required
  • All admitted students must provide evidence of adherence to the IHP Immunization and Certification Requirements, Physical Examination and Health History Documentation, OSHA and HIPAA training by matriculation into the program.
