Money laundering is a process of concealing the source and ownership of funds generated from criminal activity and legalizing such funds. Financial services firms and banks are required by law to investigate and identify clients that could be participating in money laundering. In this course, students explore the motivation and methods of money laundering as well as the history behind the anti-money laundering laws and regulations in the United States and the requirements for compliance for banking and financial firms.
