GRM 401 Multiculturalism in Germany

This course questions the equating of Germanness with whiteness. By engaging with a variety of texts (literature, journalism, film, rap, blogs, graffiti) created by German speakers of a variety of ethnic backgrounds, students interrogate assumptions and markers of (national) identity. At the same time, students build vocabulary and develop precision and sophistication in written and spoken German.
