IX. Academic Program Approval, Modification, and Closure
The development of a new academic program is a significant institutional undertaking requiring collaboration among faculty, administration, institutional support offices, governance bodies, and external regulatory agencies. New academic programs must demonstrate academic rigor, market demand, operational feasibility, and financial sustainability.
This policy applies to degree and certificate programs that result in academic credit or appear on a University transcript. This policy does not apply to continuing professional development activities, workshops, seminars, employee training, or other non-credit educational offerings unless otherwise determined by the Office of the Provost.
The Office of the Provost oversees all academic program approval, modification, and closure processes.
