b. Malpractice-Liability Insurance
Non-physician and non-certified-nurse-midwife employees and volunteers of the Institute are automatically insured for medical-professional liability through the Institute’s MPL insurance provided by CRICO, providing limits of liability are $5M per claim and $10M annual aggregate. This insurance is provided only in connection with such an insured individual’s work sanctioned by the Institute. MPL risk exposures not in connection with work sanctioned by the Institute are not covered by this insurance.
Physician and non-certified-nurse-midwife employees and volunteers of the Institute would need to have their own medical professional liability insurance to cover them for their Institute work. Contracted service providers of the MGH Institute would need to have their own medical professional liability insurance to cover them for their Institute work.
