ECE 302 Planning for Quality Infant/Toddler Programs
Key components of developing and maintaining programs for children ages birth to three will be explored. Examination of the Infant-Toddler Environmental Rating Scale, state regulations (licensed centers and family child care), accreditation standards, quality improvement rating systems, credentialing and other resources will be addressed. The unique health and safety needs of children ages birth to three will be discussed, as will supporting the diverse need of families with children ages birth to three (children with special needs, multilingual homes and diverse family structures), especially in the context of developing family friendly policies and program options. 10 hours of field experience required.
