LTC 450 Long-Term Care Administration Overview and Introduction to Life Safety
This is the introductory course for the four-course concentration in Long-Term Care Administration. This course reviews the historical highlights of long-term care and the fundamental principles of the long-term care administrator’s role and responsibilities including ethical and legal issues that impact them. Students also examine the regulatory requirements that govern long-term care facilities, resident care, and life safety codes. Labor laws, recruitment processes, and employee management procedures specific to long term care facilities are also addressed in this course. Pre-requisite(s): Admitted to NLU at an Undergraduate or Graduate standing. Co-requisite(s): None. 5 quarter hours
