Graduate Standards of Progress - Doctoral Degrees

Academic Good Standing

Students are considered to be in Academic Good Standing if their cumulative GPA is at or above a 3.00.

Academic Probation

Students not meeting this criterion to qualify for academic good standing will be placed on Academic Probation.

Continued Academic Probation

Students on Academic Probation who do not qualify for Academic Good Standing in their next semester will be continued on Academic Probation if their semester grade point average is at least 3.00.

Academic Dismissal

Students not in Academic Good Standing will be Academically Dismissed if they:

  1. Do not qualify for Continued Academic Probation, or

  2. Have a cumulative GPA below 2.00.

Students may appeal dismissal decisions by petitioning the Provost.
