SpHr 489 Aural Rehabilitation
Theoretical course covering the role of speechreading (lip reading) and auditory training as it relates to speech, language, and communication. Historical perspectives and philosophies considered, communication systems, speech acoustics and perception, amplification and hearing aids, speech reading, and auditory training. Multicultural issues will be included. Also offered for graduate-level credit as SpHr 589 and may be taken only once for credit.Recommended prerequisite: SpHr 488/588.
