ARTS 3349 Medieval Art

A survey of art created roughly between 300-1400. This course will begin by studying trends in early Christian art, and will move through various regional and international styles in Eastern and Western Europe. Some of the major topics will include manuscript tradition, architectural developments, the transmission of artistic trends across Europe, and themes in both religious and secular art. May not be repeated credit.
